Which shade of red?

porsche parts

Hello. For me, my brother and sister’s 16TH birthday, my dad has decided to get us a Porsche of our choice. (I am part of triplets, and my parents are millionaires.) I have decided to get a Porsche 911 Targa 4S in red. There are two shades of red, one is called Ruby Red Metallic and the other is called Guard’s Red. To see the colors, follow these instructions: Click: http://www.porsche.com/usa . Then, click build your Porsche. Then click 2D Version. Then click 911 then click 911 Targa 4S. Then click start. Then click on both reds to see what they look like. DONT CLICK 3D VERSION!! It has a bad interpretation of colors.
thanks,
ADIDAS

PS: My sister, Catie is getting 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet. My brother, Donovan, is getting the 911 Turbo.

Hahaha who cares…you’re getting freakin’ amazing cars at 16.

But all kidding aside, Guard’s Red.

    1) youre pretty foolish for not going for a GT3 or turbo. The turbo is better at everything than the T4S, and the GT3 is an incredibly amazing car. You should really go for a used 996 GT2 though, if you have your choice.

    2) Youre going to probably kill yourself within the first few weeks of owning it. THe first time you hit the gas coming out of a turn, youre going to get a little sideways. Youre going to countersteer and lift off the throttle, then get snap oversteer the other way, throwing you into a lightpole or similar. Standard 911 crash. You wont see it coming, and you will not know how to react.

    3) Guards red looks 100 times better than ruby red metallic. Indian red also looks great though.

    4) Join the local Porsche club of america, Do some high speed driving events, learn how to drive the car properly, to prevent you from ending up in a body bag. Seriously.

Im only 20, so im not trying to rain on your parade. Im all for nice cars. No 16 year old is capable of handling a car that fast for their first though. Not even close (i wasnt either). You NEED some high speed, instructed driving experience to learn to drive the correct way (99.9% of drivers DO NOT DRIVE PROPERLY OR WELL). Youll also have a ton of fun, and possibly save your life.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
