Why is insurance so cheap? My uncle just gave me a Porsche 944 2.5 car and I was like this is impossible?

porsche insurance

I thought whats the points if I cannot drive it but I got an insurance quote for £856, after putting my dad as the main driver, then me as a named driver, but still that is cool yeah?
butty, its not a donkey, just cos you don’t have one, and secondly its not thirdy party, fire and theft, its comprehensive.
and thirdly butty, I have passed my test and I am quite older than 17…

Yes, most people just don’t shop around enough. My nephew had a BMW at 17, insured in his own name with no problems.

You should know that if you have an accident, the insurance company will require proof that your father really is the main driver if you are driving at the time.

The insurance companies are not as thick as people like to think.

hardly… im guessing your excess is around £ 500 and its third party F&T…

sorry to say this, but its cheap coz its a donkey. it isnt a porche, its an audi. and sadly you can buy one for about 200 quid.

i bough the daughter a 1.3i Ka. (on an R plate) that cost me 1k, for daughter, whose 17 and hasnt passed her test, and the wife… and its fully comp with a £250 excess.

You wait until you need to claim. Every insurance company on the planet spends far more money on the “How do we get out of this claim” department, than they actually do paying out claims.

the answer is basically the same as the answer i gave for the ford probe. the car isnt worth much and your dad will have a good NCB, and as youve said you’re older than 17 you may have past the high accident rate which is linked to testosterone filled teen boys.
i spoke to a 21yr old a few years ago who had a citroen saxo and a jag XJS V12, but the saxo cost more to insure. your car is worthless to insurance companies, you cant make a claim for a dinged panel without writing the car off, and i expect the power is similar to the probe you were looking at.
just make sure that you can use your dads NCB, as if he has his own policy you cant use it on both, and insurance companies have a register to check NCBs.
technically if you are the main driver you should be on the insurance as that, but if you put your dad as the main driver and he never drives it you would just be doing what many new drivers do, but if you drive it to work everyday and then have an accident on the way one day, remember you may have to explain to your insurance company why you were driving it to work if you havent put yourself down as commuting.

I’ve got news for you, the insurance companies are well used to this “fiddle”. Wait until a claim is necessary. You have declared that your dad is the principal user, they WILL investigate and they are very good at it. If they find out you lied, you are out on your own. Butty.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
