For starters, you need to be aware that almost anything you need to replace will cost $1000.

Hi there, I used to own Porsch 924, very nice look, the only problem you will have is the WATER COOLER, THE FAN WAS NOT WORKING GOOD ENOUGH TO COOL DOWN, and the engine got OVERHEATED, it automatic shut off engine a lot ( almost every blocks of street ) when summer coming, I had discussed the problem with some other owner, who told me the same.

Friend, the 924 is a pile of junk; full of problems that Porsche never addressed!

1st, practically the entire rear suspension is made of white aluminium, very easy to crack and practically impossible to weld; costly repair!
2nd, the cold start valve (sensor) requires the engine to be lifted above the firewall to replace; sensor failing is common which will cause hard starts.
3rd, the timing belt is basic porsche, when it breaks the engine can get seriously damaged.
4th, the makeshift AC coil is mounted under the passenger seat, when the AC is on and you hit a bump the idiotic overflow tray will spill all over the interior.
6th, the cheap seating material will easily crack and the entire interior will also crack very easily.
I can go on and on…

An old porsche is a pile of junk that is worthless!

Save your hard earned money and buy something that is relatively new and good on fuel, check out a Toyota Yaris etc…

The 924 was actually more Audi than Porsche, except the 924S which got the 944 engine. The 944 would be a MUCH better purchase and if you can get your hands on an “S” or Turbo you’ll have a blast.

Slow down, I have been caught out in the past, Bought a fantastic 1984 convertible 911 but the engine failed and it cost me 10k to have it rebuilt.

to answer your question, The 924 is a was built to be a VW (I now drive a 1972 beetle that never lets me down) you will probable be spending loads of money on everything until all of the car is up to scratch. If you are prepared for this the car should then be reliable for many years. Research, research and more research. Good Luck!

Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
