    Buenisimo!!!!
una pregunta or question: is the driver commenting his lap while he is driving? or he commented later?

  4. AgentTomGER - November 3rd, 2008 at 2:44 am

It’s the german driver Jurgen Barth as mentioned in the video description commenting on his own lap. The last sentence spoken by a commentator is also in german.

    Greetings from Germany ;)

What language is the commentator speaking?

Fantastic footage. It Passed some of the smaller Porches as if they were standing still. Mulsanne didn’t take long. What top speeds did they reach in that era on that version of la Sarthe?

Porsche 917 is the Fastet Porsche ever build. 1100 bhp in race 1500 in qaulifing… Top speed in Musolmune was 407kph. in 1971, 12 seconds to 320 kph (200 mph)

  8. rdtli - November 10th, 2008 at 9:04 pm

Maybe things slow down when you’re the driver, but beeing a passenger you’d probably shit your pants. Thaose cars were reaalllyyy fast, faster than formula one

They were brave men back then, you crashed you were dead. At least on the faster parts of the track.

  14. straightandkink917 - November 23rd, 2008 at 6:04 am

    I think so, yes.

All but one of them a 934 or 934 derivative, with one 935 type near the end in the Porsche curves section.

Personally, I lose a bit of interest when they enter that “new section,” instead of taking the old track (to the left) over the hill and bridge into White House.

These days, I have to work hard to maintain any interest in Le Mans. The new Mulsanne (two chicanes) is a mere shadow of the old Mulsanne.

I blame Bernie Eccelstone, myself–he killed motorsport. For money.

Like most motor racing “in-car” videos, this one crams a large camera FOV into a small screen FOV…which has the effect of “speeding things up” or making the view seem “faster than it really would be” (to the real eye).

Jackie Stewart used to say that when you were “in the zone,” (as a driver) everything slowed down–you had plenty of time to see things coming and decide how to deal with them.

The point being: When a driver is “in the zone,” the driving is almost boring. Even at 230 MPH.

Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

  26. ehow - October 15th, 2010 at 5:58 am

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
