I read everywhere that the 911 is alot more fun to drive and you only really get a sense of the 928’s speed above 80 mph. Is this true? If you have driven both please help me decide.
I have a 99′ porsche boxster. I tried changing the battery to the remote key today, and i was very carefull in doin so.. but not the buttons dont work at all. the little lcd lite blinks, so it does have power. Could it have lost sync with the car? If so do i have to take it to the dealer.. the one near me is the worste.. they rape you for everything. I’d apprieciate any advise. Thanks.
I have a 73 and a half (CIS) 911T and would like to know how to maximize the value of the car.
Some facts:
1. Car has a reconstructed title - damage was apparently to the deck lids and glass at the time. The car is straight as an arrow.
2. The rear fenders have been flared.
3. The car has a 74? rear spoiler.
4. The car does have a working sunroof.
5. There is no rust on the car anywhere.
Other than mentioned, the car is original. I have replaced a lot of stuff in the car over the years and mechanically it is in tip top condition and a blast to drive. The only thing currently lacking on the car is some cosmetic interior work (door pockets etc).
Is it worth keeping as much of the originality as is left in the car intact, or because of the title should I just go ahead and modify the heck out of it? seats, door skins, suspension & brake upgrades? Or even turn it into a strictly track or race car? What would maximize the value if I ever sell it?
I usually only drive at top speeds in the low 70s, so I guess there is not much of a chance for it to come out, right? How long do you have to stay sustained at 75 mph for it to emerge? 2 minutes? 5 minutes? If I hit 75 it’s usually just for a few seconds at a time.
I ask because my dealer told me if it doensn’t come out by itself, it can be dangerous, aerodynamically or whatever.
thanks!

My fiance wants a Z06 Corvette but we can’t afford to buy a new one. He wants to sell his Trans Am. I say he should get a Porsche or an old classic. He wants performance. High performance. What would be the best as far as speed for $35,000 used? He does almost all the work himself as far as modifications.
Forgot to mention he wants 2004 or later Corvette. He says performance on earlier models isn’t good enough. He can’t stand that I’m on Yahoo Answers all the time so I’m trying to prove myself right by getting some good info from you all. LOL!
Also, forgot to mention he’s big on American muscle cars. Not old ones (like me) but newer.
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! You guys are making me look SO smart!
I recently had the opportunity to drive a 1981 Porsche 928 but am uncomfortable doing it again until I know what everything is under the hood. (i.e. Where to I check/fill the oil?)
On Porsche’s web special for the new 911 and a few other places it emphasizes that every new 911 model comes equipped with bi-xenon headlamps as standard. However, on the regular site, if you look at the technical specifications for the base Carrera, it states that it only comes with H7 halogen projectors. Can anyone clear this up?
Hy ! I really like the car games in which you can see the dashboard, the dials, the steering wheel like Porsche 2000, TDU (too hungry 4 my comp) or the 18 wheels series …I searched the net but i could only find games regarding racing on a LeMans-like race track . Can anyone recommend me something ? (basically something after 2001, sim-like, no
WRCs or other rally-like games pls
