Ok, before you say I am spoiled:
I have about a $60,000 surplus after IT this year and (not included in the $60k, this is savings) what I have already put away for my college fund to pay for housing and food (have everything else covered by parents, but i told them i would pay for this). I am about to get my license and after about a year with it I will want to buy my first car and stop driving the volvo. Yes I can pay for insurance so don’t worry about that. Both my father and I are very into cars and I am planning on following his footsteps and going to business school and eventually becoming a financial manager. Since I cannot afford a lamborghini like him, I am looking for something that will be fun and high performance but still in the $60,000-$90,000 range. Any input from people who won’t be jerks or criticize me about this would be excellent. I have looked at Porsche 911 Turbos, I found one used for around $55k, but I have also looked at some Ferrari F360 Spiders because a dealer that my dad bought his car from says he will give it to me for $89k with only 20,000 miles on it. But besides those, I would love to know what you guys would recommend? Thank you all.
Excuse me? Liar? You know, it might sound a little bit crazy but I love haters. This way I can rub in their faces the fact that my family is loaded, we live on Gibson Island, and I will be wealthier than you ever will be even if I weren’t to go to college. Then my father and I can drive by your house in the lambo and throw nickels at you in this “economic crisis”…. If you really want to know how to make money, I will tell you that about 5 years ago I started investing in the market, no only American, but overseas as well. Good luck paying your bills this month….it makes me mad that my IT goes towards poor people such as yourself. Be happy with what you have and don’t be mad that others have more….. OK?

Thanks for posting, I’ll definitely be subscribing to your blog.
why buy a car your probably just gonna crash. your 16 friggin years old you cant handle a car like that.
I’m sorry to say but any car you buy when you are 16 years old you’ll be tired of by the time you are 17 because you will realize that, being very inexperienced, you really don’t know what you want just yet. Or you’ll wreck it. So, why not just buy something practical but fun, and relatively inexpensive, drive it and learn what you really want. After 3-4 years, you’ll be more mature and know what you really want.
way to much money to spend on a first car and about 50k over what anyone should spend on a first car. that being said if you were really into cars you would know that there are many cars in that price range that are many times better then the ones you named. starting off with a bmw m3 which is around 50k, a dodge viper which is one of the greatest cars of all time and its around 100k, then theres also the mitsubishi evo which beat a lambo around a track and those are usually less then 20k, new they are more then that though, so depending on what you really want if its a car like a ferrari which are decent cars but extremely overpriced and youll get noticed by people who know nothing about cars or you could get a bmw m3 and people who know a real car when they see one will notice you
Liar, liar, pants on fire.
if your father “is very into cars” why can’t he help you with this…?
anyways, i would say go with a Mercedes Benz- but i’m biased
Corvette. When you’re at college, you can have it serviced locally rather than having a Ferrari or Porsche towed for 100-200 miles.
If you don’t mind my asking, what the hell does your dad do? You guys are insanely loaded, its awesome, you should tell me what he does for a living, I might have to get into it lol. As for the car, I’d go with a Ferrari, but that’s my opinion.
i didnt know that, is there another article like that? because i really wanna know more about it
Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.
Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
