Just before you call me rich and a spoiled brat like a lot of people I have seen on yahoo answers, this is a project car not a brand new one. It’s a 1972 with a 5 speed manual.
i think it can be dangerous depending upon the person.in my opinion you sound like you put alot of love into it if so you might not beat on it.be careful around your friends,i was always doing burn outs and driving 100mph fast sometimes more.if anything would have went wrong i would not be able to write this.scared a friend one time so bad he never rode with me.think about those things ,i think u will b OK
The car is not inherently dangerous. First question: is it the four cylinder model or the six? The answer to that may control just how expensive insuring a new, male driver is. Second question: how much of a project is it? I’m thinking you want a car that you can reliably drive around. Unless this has been VERY carefully taken care of, or lovingly restored already, that might not be the case.
It’s an OLD car. Parts can be hard to find, and very expensive. Lots of these were allowed to “rust out;” if you really come down to buying it, have a Porsche mechanic check it out thoroughly. Search out the vehicle’s history and don’t buy unless there is a good trail of paper for it’s maintenance.
This Porsche - VW can be a lot of fun, if it’s in good shape and you take care of it. Otherwise, it can be one big money pit that is always in the shop, and that you wish you had never bought.
I have a Porsche. My daily driver is a Subaru. You might want to consider a nice, newer Subie. They are great cars!
