Essentialy I want something that is reliable and is good for Sunny California hence needing a softtop.
So its down to Toyota Solara, BMW 325, Audi A4.
What is the best option and is there anything else I should think about. Most I want to spend is around 20k.

The BMW would be the best choice. The Solara is going to be the cheapest, but it has no driving experience to offer. The A4 gets pretty expensive to repair and has hints of a VW Jetta in it. The Boxter is a good car with ZERO practicality. With a lack of interior volume and with hefty repair bills, you will end paying more in repairs than the price you bought it for. What about a Volvo C70? My cousin owns a 2004 and loves it.

Scrap the A4 I own one currently and I have had to pay $8,000 in one trip to the repair shop before and i have been there a bunch they are noce looking but expensive to repair. The BMW is a very reliable car that holds it’s value for a long long time but the solara is a great option! It is under $20,000 well equipped and not to mention it looks great. You may even find a nice conv. for a little over 20K but it would be well worth it. Then last but not least don’t forget about Toyota’s great powertrain warranty which you won’t probably won’t need unlike the other two cars those toyota’s go forever and look fantastic doing it! Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
