How hard would it be to swap a 1971 VW transpoter engine and transaxle with a similar year porsche?

porsche

I am looking to swap my 71 transporter’s engine and transaxle with one from a similar year porsche. How hard will this be? Is it even possible? What would be the hardest parts? I am doing it for the better gas mileage of the 5 speed, so is there any similar 5 speed that would be easier or cheaper to swap?

Thank you.

It should not be too hard as long as you have some fabrication skills.

dont bother purring a porsche engine in there. too much work and money. get yourself a 5 speed gene berg tranny and build the stock 1600 into a 1776cc and you will get better top speed/performance, and properly tuned can get better mileage

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

An astonishing blogpost, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little analysis on that. And he in fact bought me lunch because I found it for him. :) .. So let me rephrase that: Thankx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you become expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is highly helpful for me. Big thumb up for this blog post!

I’m impressed, I have to say. Very seldom do I see a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your post is outstanding; the matter is something that not many people are talking intelligently about. I’m really happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to it.
