how much can i get for scrapping an ’87 Porsche 924s?

porsche

this is the first time ive asked a question so im not sure how to respond haha

all the parts are good, and i have 2 engines. one that works n another with a thrown rod. i am 800 miles away so i cannot work on it myself n it seems as though i cannot find anyone else that can either, but i really need to get rid of it.

Need a Performance Exhaust? Get that race tone with more horsepower by adding a racing exhaust to your car.

Well, it depends on which parts are usable

If you call a salvage yard they will only give you a few hundred for it, because it is not a fast mover they get lots of calls for.
But on the internet you should have no problem getting much more, depending on what is wrong with it.
There is Craigslist, and there are lots of Porsche users groups and forums that would probably help you out, depending on where you are.

Oh, you poor fool. I know of a man that has an entire warehouse full of 924 parts that he’s owned since the 80′s…the fact is, no one likes these awful cars. They were bad when they were new, and age has not done them any favors. The engine is a VW AUDI product, and not a very good one. They are incredibly common (used in a bunch of cars). The rest of the parts, no one cares about, because very few people are dumb enough to spend the money to put such a terrible car back on the road. sorry.

Ignore Dude – he has your car confused with the 1977 to 1982 924 that used the Audi/VW parts (and was still a bargain car that could out handle most).

Your car has the same Porsche designed and built four cylinder motor as the 944 (and close to the same as in the 968). It also uses the same transmission, suspension, and brakes as a 1983.5 to 1992 Porsche 944.

Your car is essentially a 944 without flared wheel arches. If you part it out, you can get decent money for the parts.

If you sell it as a whole, you will not get nearly as much, maybe $500 – $750 not running.

You need to find someone that will strip it and sell the parts for you for a cut of the money. They don’t need to be able to fix it, just strip parts and sell them on e-bay.

    Just my 2 cents.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

I want to visit your website more frequently, but these days it seems to be taking a really long time to load in my browser. I visit from work, which I know I shouldn’t do, but our internet hookup is really fast. Is the site having some maintenance done or something?
