Right before the start of the race weekend of the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, Fernando Alonso wanted to try the new 458 Spider, which will be presented at the IAA Frankfurt next Tuesday. The Scuderia Ferrari driver enjoyed the potential of the 8-cylinder mid-rear engine from the Prancing Horse – with hard top and fitted with the same most advanced technological content as the multi-awarded 458 Italia and now available in an “en plein air” version – on the roads around Maranello. Alonso was extremely satisfied with the perfect combination of high performance, exceptional handling and the engine sound the 458 Spider is able to deliver.

Lmaoo at this point when all these automakers are putting out phenomenally quick and handling cars…who gives a fuck about how much quicker car x is than car y. They are all pretty damn fast. They all wield MUCH more speed than any of us could fully utilize anyway. GTR’s 458s are all just apples vs oranges.

@umadbrow no doubt the 458 is a great car but there are too many badge snobs out there.in dynamic terms the GTR is superior but supposedly has no “soul” lol.this abstract soul is the default reason why a ferrari will never lose a group test.the funny thing is soul talk never existed back in the days when Ferrari were unchallenged dynamically.

I love this car, and I’ve always been partial to Ferrari. I believe Ferrari builds the absolute best cars on the roads. But IMO nothing is more beautiful than a 599 or 599xx…incredibly beautiful machines.
