Hi, I want to import a 1989 Porsche 944 into the U.S. The vehicle is El Salvador, in Central America. The vehicle was shipped out of the U.S. in 1992. I want to know what are the procedure of registering the vehcile back inside the U.S. I will be registering it in Florida. Thank You

Someone oversteered and crashed into the side of my uncle’s Porsche 944 in the snow. It looks like they bent the frame, which causes 944s to be totalled 99% of the time. Book value on it is about $7000.

Please don’t tell me I’m getting into trouble buying an old Porsche, as I already have a 944 and would like a parts car. Anybody with experience buying back wrecked cars, your advice or ballpark figures are welcome. Thanks
Thanks for the answers so far. I understand they’ll charge what they want, but I don’t want to spend much more than $1000-1200 on a totalled car. Would anyone expect the car to go for a more than that?

These cars can be had from private parties all day for $500 if they don’t run.

Hey I have to admit I made a lot of mistakes all circling around my new sport car… I lost my license and learnt a lot from the process, now im just wondering whats going on. I looked into progressive for auto insturance, when i did this i tallied up my tickets and placed them into the spots. (its a big number but 8 moving violations) Except I put down the tickets in the form that they were plead down to. I only have 2 points on my license after the entire thing and well I dont understand how I paid 500 dollers to plea the ticket to a no point ticket but it STILL adds a good 100-200$ each for each ticket. I thought that if it was brought to a no point ticket they wouldnt increase or decsrease my insurance for it? I feel like somethings wrong. How can a non moving violation increase an insurance fee????

Btw I just got a new porsche boxster and im 18 years old 2 points and a big record. Completely truthful I put down all my tickets that werent dismissed in the form that they were plead to. It goes like 2x unsafe driving, not completely stopping at a stop sign, and driving on the wrong side of the road. All adding up to a mere 4 points, and I will have the driver thing that cuts two points off. All together my insruance will cost 490 a month. When I took off the two unsafe driving tickets (because there 0 points) and one of the 2 pointers, it went down to 275…

This is just weird to me im sorry…
I understand that considering my record, But most of the tickets were dismissed (via plea) and all were pleaded down to 0 points except two 2 point tickets. WHY did I plea the ticket down to a no point violation so that It doesnt increase my insurance if it does.

I am 21 years old and last nite I was driving in my dads cayenne and when all of a sudden i slipped on a piece of ice, slammed on the break and the car slid right into a mazda 3 hatchback, wasn’t going that fast or anything.
The porches damage was substantial, damaged the bumper and broke one of the lights, the mazda 3 however was severely damaged, broken tail lights, broke back glass and major dent in trunk.
I live in Montreal, quebec, canada where we have no fault insurance, not quite sure what that is perhaps you could explain that to me. Can they sue me, the accident was my fault, no doubt about that. The deductable on my dads car is 3000 dollars, anything over our insurance company, allstate pays, what do you think the deductable is on the mazda, I estimate around 500 dollars.
It was my first car accident, i was horrified, i’m so nervous, what happens next?
Has anyone else ever gotten into a big accent, please help me?

Ok, heres the situation. I’m 16, i drive a 1988 Porsche 924S, and i pay like $150/mo for liability. Few days ago i wrecked my car at school. i took a turn too fast, hopped a curb and went thru a fence. I’m pretty sure the car is totalled since parts are so expensive for that car.

Here’s the thing. Nobody was hurt, and cops came, but they didnt file a report and i wasnt charged with anything. I havent told the insurance company yet though because i don’t know my options. If i told them i totalled my car, will they give me what its worth? Will they do anything? should i just sell it to a junkyard and cancel my insurance?

i used to have a poniac vibe it had 14000 left on it to pay when i traded it in on a older porsche i had gap on the vibe and i thought i had gap on the porsche but when i call them thay said that they didnt have any of my info on my porsche that i totaled ive got my papers on the vibe showing my gap covrage and the payments were kept the same so i didnt have to sign all thoes extra papers but i need to know if my gap transfered over since i didnt say yes or no to gap on the porsche thanks to anyone who may beable to help

My porsche boxster has had quite a heavy shunt mainly on the left hand passenger side. It’s 6 years old and books under £15K. I would like to get the insurance company to write it off Can I do this?

Also… If it must be reapaired I want them to send it to a Porsche bodyshop if it must be repaired can I do this?
