How hard would it be to swap a 1971 VW transpoter engine and transaxle with a similar year porsche?

Friday 6 August 2010 @ 2:49 am
porsche

I am looking to swap my 71 transporter’s engine and transaxle with one from a similar year porsche. How hard will this be? Is it even possible? What would be the hardest parts? I am doing it for the better gas mileage of the 5 speed, so is there any similar 5 speed that would be easier or cheaper to swap?

Thank you.

Is it possible to put a 1974 Porsche 914 engine into a 1979 VW bus?

porsche

I just recently found a 1974 Porsche 914 engine and I was curious if it would be easy to put it in my 1979 VW transporter. And if its safe to have in the bus. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated!

I always thought they were the same company. My Porsche Boxster has both Audi and VW logos stamped on various components.

How/why is Porsche doing this?

Porsche Cayenne Turbo vs. VW Touareg V10 TDI?

Sunday 26 April 2009 @ 1:03 pm
porsche cayenne

So i made a bet with a friend that a Cayenne turbo(V8TT) would beat a VW Touareg with a V10 TDI from 0-60mph and the 1/4 mile. I am certain the turbo is faster in all aspects but if there ever was a year that the Touareg was faster than the Cayenne turbo please let me know. I am also aware of the stats on both and that diesel power yields more torque. Please only answer if you are sure and not assuming.
